Customers sign in to your app with the methods you choose in the panel. Once signed in, they manage their own profile, addresses and account there.
How customers sign in
One setting decides the methods for the website and the app together: How customers sign in on Shop › Settings › Social Login Settings.
| Choice | In the app |
|---|
| Phone code (default; the mobile app also keeps password sign-in) | Phone code and password |
| Phone code only (website and app) | Phone code |
| Password only | Password |
| Phone code or password | Both |
A method you have switched off is refused in the app with "This sign-in method is not available on this shop."
Phone codes reach the customer only if your shop can send them by SMS or WhatsApp. The Phone code delivery box on the same tab shows whether it can. See Customer sign-in methods.
Google sign-in inside the app is part of the app build. Ask support to set it up. For Google sign-in on your website, see Sign in with Google.
When sign-in is refused
| The app answers | Cause | What to do |
|---|
| "This shop isn't accepting new accounts." | Registration is closed for your shop | See Customer registration |
| "Profile Not Approved" | Customer approval is on and you have not approved this customer | See Approve customers |
| "Profile Deleted" | The customer deleted their profile at your shop | Restore them. See below |
Profile
A signed-in customer can:
- edit their profile details,
- choose their language, from the languages your shop offers,
- change their phone number or e-mail address. When your shop sends codes for it, the change is confirmed by a one-time code,
- set a password, or change it. A password needs at least 8 characters, cannot be only digits and cannot be their phone number or e-mail.
If the app asks for a code your shop is not set up to send, the answer is "OTP is not enabled". See Customer sign-in codes.
Saved addresses
Customers add, edit and delete delivery addresses and choose a default. A map position is required on an address only when your shop requires a map pin at checkout; otherwise it is optional. The app can check a position against your delivery area. See Address and map.
Deleting the account
A customer can delete their profile from the app. This is what it does:
- It marks the customer as deactivated at your shop only. Their orders and wallet are kept.
- From then on they cannot sign in to your shop; the app answers "Profile Deleted".
- The customer stays in your customers list with the Deactivated badge, and you can restore them.
It does not erase their data. To restore the customer, or to handle a request to erase data, see Deactivated customers and Privacy requests.
