WhatsApp does three separate jobs in your shop. They are set up in three different places, and one does not switch on the others.
| Job | What the customer sees | Where you set it up |
|---|
| Messages | Order updates, cart reminders, back-in-stock alerts, gift cards and sign-in codes from your business number | Shop › WhatsApp |
| WhatsApp store | Your catalogue inside WhatsApp, with ordering in the chat | Shop › Features, then Shop › Whatsapp Api & Webhooks |
| Button on your website | "Order on WhatsApp" opens a chat with your number | Your website preferences and theme settings |
The provider
Messages are sent through Libromi, the WhatsApp Business provider this platform works with. It is the only provider the WhatsApp page offers.
You connect by copying two details from your Libromi dashboard into the panel: an API address and an API token. There is no "log in with Facebook" step in the panel. Your message templates are created and approved in your WhatsApp Business account with the provider, not in the panel.
The WhatsApp store, the catalogue and the ordering conversation, also runs on the provider's side. Your shop supplies the products, prices, delivery rules and order handling.
Who can use it
- Plan. The WhatsApp menu item appears once your plan includes the WhatsApp store, or once a connection has been saved. Without it, the page reads "WhatsApp messaging is not included in your plan" and offers Plan & billing.
- Role. Only the shop owner can open Shop › WhatsApp. Other roles see "Only the shop owner can manage WhatsApp."
A shop that already has a connection can still see, test and disconnect it after the plan changes.
