Recalculate shipping on an order

Re-quote the courier shipping options after an order changes, and apply the one you want.

Before you start

Your shop ships by shipping zones and rates, and the order is a delivery order. Turn on Courier shipping in Shop › Features. If you do not see it there, ask support.

Who can use this

Shipping is priced from the products and the address. After you add or remove products, or when you build an order in the panel, quote the shipping again so the charge matches.

Save the products first
On the change page, make your product changes and select Save changes. The quote uses the order's saved products and address.
Open the change page again
Select Modify Order. The Shipping box shows Current option: with the rate the order has now, or none yet. A COD fee, if any, is shown as included.
Quote
1. Select Recalculate shipping. The box lists the options your zones and rates offer for this order, each with its price and any COD fee.
Apply
1. Choose an option and select Apply shipping option. The page shows "Shipping updated:" and the option's name. The delivery charge and the total follow.

Rules

Paid orders. If the new shipping charge is higher and the customer has already paid, the order keeps its current shipping. The page says The new shipping charge is higher, but the customer has already paid: the order keeps its current shipping (noted in the order activity). Agree the difference with the customer yourself.
Self pickup. A self-pickup order has no shipping. The page says A self-pickup order has no shipping.
Booked shipments. Once a courier shipment is booked, the order cannot be changed. Cancel the shipment on the Shipping card first.

Orders you create in the panel

A draft created with New for a courier address starts with no shipping option. Add the products, save, then recalculate shipping before you place it. See Create an order.

Troubleshooting

No shipping option for this order. No zone or rate covers the address, weight or value. Check Delivery › Shipping zones & rates.
Could not quote shipping. Please try again. The quote failed. Check your connection and try again.
No Shipping box. The order is a self pickup, or your shop does not ship by zones and rates.
