Set your draft to go live at a chosen date and time, then reschedule or cancel it.
A scheduled publish puts a prepared design live at a time you choose. It is set in the editor's publish dialog.
Select Publish in the top bar.
Under When, select Schedule. The dialog title becomes Schedule publish.
Set the date and time under Go live on. The time is in your shop's timezone, shown as "Shop time (…)". If the shop's timezone is not known, the note says your browser's time is used.
The time must be at least 5 minutes from now and within the next 90 days.
Check the list of changes, add a Note (optional), then select Schedule publish.
The dialog confirms "Scheduled. The draft goes live …".
While a publish is waiting, a strip under the top bar reads "Scheduled for …", with the note and the name of the person who scheduled it.

Without the Publish permission you can see the strip but not change it.
The strip reads "The scheduled publish failed: …" and version history marks the copy Scheduled publish failed.
It fails at once when the copy no longer matches the theme, the Online Store is off for the shop, or the plan is read-only. Other errors are tried again, up to five attempts. Fix the cause, then publish by hand or Reschedule. Cancel schedule on the strip, or Dismiss in version history, clears the message.
