What customers see on the home page, in the header and in the footer, and where each part comes from.
The home page is a list of sections you arrange in the editor. The header and footer appear on every page of the store.
Customers see the sections of your home template, in your order. Hidden sections are not shown. Each theme has its own home sections, such as slideshows, banners, featured collections and category lists.
To change this: Shop › Online Store › Customize. See Online store and design.
The header carries your logo, the menu, a search box, the account link and the cart. Some themes add a wishlist link, a location bar or a status notice.
| Part | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Logo | The theme's Logo under Brand. If that is empty, the shop logo from Web Application Settings. If both are empty, your shop name |
| Menu links | The menus you build in the editor. See Navigation menus |
| Announcement bar | The announcement section of your theme. See Header, footer and announcement bar |
| Language switcher | Shown when your website offers more than one language. See Languages and currency |
| Account link | Reads "Log in" for a visitor and "Account" for a signed-in customer |
| Part | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Footer and legal menus | Menus in the editor. See Navigation menus |
| Social icons | The links saved under Preferences: social links and WhatsApp. Only valid web addresses are shown |
| Payment icons | Worked out from the payment methods your shop offers: cash on delivery, card schemes, Tabby, Tamara, UPI, GCash or PayPal. See How getting paid works |
| Opening hours | Your business hours, when the theme's footer shows them |
| Phone | The phone number of your default location. See Locations |
When Android App Url or IOS App Url is filled in under Shop › Settings › General Settings, themes that include app badges show them. Only an https address on the App Store or Google Play is accepted; anything else is ignored and the badge stays hidden. See General Settings: apps, website and order alerts.
Your store publishes a web app manifest with your shop name and icon, so a customer can add the site to a phone's home screen from the browser menu. This needs no setup. The icon is your browser tab icon or logo. Without a square icon of your own, an icon with your shop's initial is generated.
