Record money you put into or take out of the drawer during a shift, with an amount and a reason.
Use cash in and cash out for money that moves through the drawer without a sale: extra change brought in, a bank drop, a small purchase paid from the till. Each movement changes the cash the drawer is expected to hold at close.
Select Cash in / out in the bar at the top of the till.
Select Save. The till confirms with the type and the amount.
Every movement is written to the activity log with its reason. The totals appear as Cash in and Cash out in the cash drawer section of the X-report and Z-report. See X-report and closing a shift.
You can move cash on a shift you opened. The owner and Shop Managers can do it on any shift at their locations.

That limit starts at 0, which means every cash-out is done by the owner or a Shop Manager. On a cashier's till, the panel shows the limit: "A manager does cash-outs above …."
There is no manager code to type on the cashier's screen. For a larger cash-out, the owner or a Shop Manager signs in themselves, opens the same register with Use this register and records it.
A cash-out is refused when it is more than the drawer should hold: "The drawer should hold only …: this much cash cannot come out of it."
The expected cash is the opening cash, plus cash sales, minus cash refunds, plus cash in, minus cash out.
Cash in and cash out stay available on a shift that is already open, even when the POS register add-on is no longer in your plan or the register is locked.
