The tax lines, company details and country-specific blocks printed on an order's invoice.
An invoice is printed from the order page once the order is accepted. For the buttons, see Invoices, packing slips and KOT. This page explains what is on it.
| On the invoice | Comes from |
|---|---|
| Logo | Logo |
| Company name and address | Company Name, Company Address |
| Tax number | TRN#. For an Indian GST order it prints as "GSTIN:" and the number the order was supplied under |
| Invoice number | Invoice Prefix and the running number |
| Name of the tax | Tax Name |
All of these are on Shop › Settings › Tax Settings. See Invoice settings and numbering.
What is printed depends on the template and on how the order was taxed.
| Template | Order taxed at one rate | Order taxed by tax categories |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | One line with the tax name and rate, the tax amount, and the total before tax | No tax line. For India, see below |
| Advanced | Per line: "Taxable Amount", the rate and the tax amount | Per line: "Taxable Amount". Rate and tax columns are printed for shops in India only |
Both layouts of the Advanced invoice end with "Total before" and "incl." followed by your tax name. Its items table always has an HSN column.
On the Basic invoice the items total is marked "(Tax incl.)" whenever Enable Tax is on today.
An order that carries no tax prints no tax lines.
On the Advanced invoice, a delivery charge or shop charge that was taxed is listed in its own table with its amount before tax. An untaxed charge is a plain row in the totals. See Tax on delivery and shop charges.
An order with a GST place of supply also prints:
For a shop with ZATCA e-invoicing, a ZATCA block is printed at the top of the invoice. It carries the Arabic and English title, the QR code, the seller's details, the buyer's when there is one, and VAT per line. See Simplified invoices and the QR code.
Signed-in staff of the order's shop can open it. Customers and riders open it through a signed link from the store or the apps; that link always shows the Advanced layout. The bare order number in an address does not open an invoice for anyone else.
The invoice reads the tax stored on the order. Changing a rate or your GST state afterwards does not change the tax on an invoice already issued.
