Before you start
The Shipping card needs Courier shipping on and a shop that delivers By Shipping Zones. The Returnable choice needs Returns & exchanges on. Turn them on in Shop › Features.

These fields are used for shipping rates, courier labels and return requests. Customers do not see the weight or size.
Shipping
The card is collapsed and labelled "optional · weight, size" unless your shop delivers by shipping zones or the product already has values. Select the title to open it.
Field
What to enter
1. Weight
The packed weight, in your shop's weight unit, for example 0.5
2. Length, Width, Height
The packed size, in your shop's dimension unit
3. Requires shipping
On for anything that is packed and sent. Switch it off for digital items and services
The units shown in the labels come from Weight Unit and Dimension Unit in your delivery settings.
All values must be numbers of 0 or more. An empty field means the product has no value of its own.
Products with variants
On a product with variants, these values are the defaults for every variant. A variant can set its own weight and size on the Variants tab; blank there means it uses the product's.
When the card is missing
The card appears only when Courier shipping is on for your shop and one of these is true:
Your shop delivers By Shipping Zones, also when it delivers locally as well.
The product already has shipping values of its own.
A shop that only delivers locally does not see the card. Values saved earlier are kept while it is hidden.
Turn Courier shipping on in Shop › Features. If you do not see it there, ask support.
Returnable
Returnable appears when Returns & exchanges is on for your shop. It sits inside the Shipping card; when that card is hidden it has its own Returns card.

Meaning
As its category (returnable)
Follow the product's category. A product is returnable unless its category says otherwise
Not returnable
Customers cannot ask to return it. Use for hygiene items, perishables and custom-made goods
Always returnable
Returnable even inside a not-returnable category
The product's own choice wins over its category. Variants follow the product. The category side of this setting is on the category form.
In bulk
The CSV import accepts weight, length, width, height and requires_shipping: see Product CSV columns. The bulk edit grid has a weight column.
