Recalculate shipping on an order

Quote an existing order against your shipping zones again and apply the option you pick.

Before you start

Courier shipping must be on for your shop (turn on Courier shipping under Shop › Features, or ask support if that page says to contact support). The order must be a delivery order you can still modify, in a shop that delivers By Shipping Zones or on an order that was charged a shipping rate.

Who can use this

Shop owner, Shop Manager

Use this after you change an order's products or address, or for an order you created yourself that never went through checkout. It changes what the customer is charged for shipping. It does not book or change a courier shipment.

Open the order for changes
Open the order and select Modify Order.
Save product changes first
The quote uses the order's saved products and address. If you changed products, save them before you continue.
Recalculate
1. In the Shipping box, select Recalculate shipping. Current option: shows the rate the order has now.
Pick an option
The box lists the shipping options for this order, each with its price and delivery estimate. For a cash on delivery order, the COD fee is shown beside it.
Apply
Select Apply shipping option. You see Shipping updated: with the option's name.

What applying does

The shipping charge is rebuilt the way checkout builds it: the rate, any free delivery the order qualifies for, the COD fee and tax on the charge. The order totals move by the difference, and the change is written to the order's activity log.

When it does not apply

Message	Meaning
No shipping option for this order	No zone or rate matches the order's address and contents. Check your shipping zones and rates
The new shipping charge is higher, but the customer has already paid: the order keeps its current shipping (noted in the order activity).	A paid order is not charged more. Nothing changed
A self-pickup order has no shipping	The order is collected by the customer
Could not quote shipping. Please try again.	The quote request failed. Try again
