Delete everything the demo store created, keep what is yours, and move on to your real store.
Removing the demo deletes the rows it created and restores the settings it switched on. Your own settings, your theme and anything you created stay.
Select Remove demo data in any of these places:
On a phone, the pill opens the dialog directly.
The dialog lists what the demo created: the number of products, categories, customers and orders.
Two options appear only when they apply:
| Option | Starts | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the demo products I edited | Unticked | The sample products you changed stay and become your own products |
| Also delete unpaid test orders placed on the demo store | Ticked | Deletes the unpaid pay-on-delivery orders you placed on the demo website. Other test orders are kept |
Select Remove demo data. A dialog, "Removing the demo data…", shows the progress. When it is done the dashboard says "Demo data removed — your store is fresh".
If the demo opened your website, it goes back to the status it had before. The theme and layout the demo applied stay.
There is no Remove demo data item. You are signed in as staff other than the owner or a Shop Manager. The menu says "The shop owner can remove the demo data."
"A demo import or removal is already running." Wait for the progress to finish, then try again.
"The demo store did not finish loading. Remove the demo data and try again." The import stopped part-way. Remove what it created, then load the demo again.
A demo store cannot be loaded. The dialog gives the reason, for example "Your store is live, so demo data cannot be added." or "Your plan does not allow this many products." The full list is in Troubleshooting.
