Stop every WhatsApp message from your shop and remove the saved token.
Disconnecting stops all WhatsApp messages for your shop at once. Use it when you change provider account, or when a token may have leaked.
Go to Shop › WhatsApp. The Disconnect card is at the bottom of the right column.
Select Disconnect, then confirm "Disconnect WhatsApp?". You see "WhatsApp disconnected. No more WhatsApp messages are sent for your shop."
| Thing | After disconnecting |
|---|---|
| The API URL and API token | Removed from the shop |
| Your messages and template names | Kept, ready for the next connection |
| Latest messages | Kept |
| Order updates, reminders, alerts, gift messages | Not sent |
| Courier and return messages on WhatsApp | Not sent. See Other messages customers receive |
| WhatsApp sign-in codes through your own account | Stop. Codes can still go through the platform's gateway. See WhatsApp sign-in codes |
| The status card | WhatsApp is disconnected: "No WhatsApp messages are sent for your shop. Enter your API details below to connect again." |
Orders from your WhatsApp store keep arriving. Disconnecting affects messages only.
Fill in Connect WhatsApp with the API URL and a token, and save. The token must be entered again because it was removed. Then send a test message.
Once a connection is saved on this page, the card stays available when your plan no longer includes the WhatsApp store. Connecting again needs the plan.
A shop that only has the earlier gateway and no plan cannot open this page. To stop its messages, clear API URL on WhatsApp Order Settings and save.
