Take card payments through Tap Payments.
Tap takes payments in your shop's currency. Customers pay on Tap's page unless you switch on payment on your checkout page.
Go to Shop › Settings › Payment Gateways and select the TAP card to unfold it.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Secret Key | Yes | The secret key of your Tap account. Write-only. |
| Pay on the checkout page | No | On: customers enter their card in a Tap card form on your website, with 3-D Secure. |
| Public key | No | The public key of the same account and mode as the secret key. Needed for the checkout page. |
| Merchant ID | No | Optional. Your Tap merchant ID. |
| Website domains registered with Tap | No | Switch on only after Tap has registered every domain of your website. |
| Card brands | No | Optional. The card brands your Tap account accepts, comma separated. Empty means all of them. |
| Saved cards | No | Signed-in customers can save a card with Tap. Ask Tap to activate "Save card" on your account first. |
The card shows a line that starts "set callback url as". Set that address as the callback URL in your Tap account. Tap also reports every payment to a second address shown on the card; it is sent with every payment and needs no set-up.
Add TAP to the Payment Gateways list at the top of the tab, then select Save Settings. The card shows Switched on.
There is no switch. A test-mode Secret Key, recognised by its test prefix, makes the card read Sandbox; any other key reads Live.
Connect with test credentials first, so the card reads Sandbox. Place a test order, choose this method and pay with a test payment from the provider's own documentation. Check that the order arrives in Orders. Then replace the test credentials with live ones and confirm the pill reads Live.
The card says: "On-page checkout has not yet been verified with a live account. Contact support if a payment fails."
Tap's card form works only on domains registered with Tap. The card lists your website's domains. Ask Tap to register every one of them for your merchant account, in test and in live, then switch on Website domains registered with Tap. Until then customers pay on Tap's page.
