See how many cash on delivery orders come back, and reward customers who pay online instead.
Two cards on the right of Customers › COD & risk help you measure failed cash on delivery orders and move customers to online payment.
The card shows finished cash on delivery orders of the last 90 days. Until you tick Use these controls it reads "Turn the controls on to see how many cash on delivery orders come back."
| Row | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Delivered | Orders delivered and paid |
| Returned to origin (RTO) | Parcels the courier brought back |
| Cancelled after dispatch | Orders cancelled after they left the shop |
| COD return rate (RTO + cancelled after dispatch) | The share of finished orders that failed |
| Value not collected | What the rider or courier would have collected on the failed orders |
| Orders confirmed with a code | How many orders the customer confirmed with a code |
Read it with these notes from the page:
This card creates a discount rule that rewards customers who choose an online method. Customers see what they save with each online method at checkout. The rule works whether or not Use these controls is ticked.
It needs the discount engine. Until it is on the card says "Turn on the discount engine (Marketing Tools → Discount rules → Discount settings) to offer a discount for paying online."
Under For payments with, tick at least one online method that earns the discount. If none are listed you see "Your shop has no online payment method yet." Connect one first. See How getting paid works.
Once saved, Open the rule takes you to the same rule under Marketing Tools › Discount rules, where it can also be edited. Untick Active and save to pause it.
While Use these controls is not ticked, this card shows an empty form even when a rule exists. Edit the rule under Marketing Tools › Discount rules then.
