How stock tracking, locations, transfers and stocktakes fit together, and where each task is explained.
Stock in the panel is built in layers. Use only the layers your shop needs.
| Layer | What it adds | Who switches it on |
|---|---|---|
| Stock tracking | A quantity on each product that sales lower, low-stock alerts and a history of every change | The owner, under Shop › Features |
| Stocktakes and stock control | Counting shelves, correcting stock in one go, reasons for losses | Comes with stock tracking |
| More than one location | Stock per location, transfers, areas served by each location, staff per location | Your plan: several locations are included from the Scale plan |
| Order routing | Each order goes to the location that serves the address and has the items | Your plan, with several locations |
The owner finds Locations & stock and Stocktakes in the Catalogue menu once stock tracking is on. Locations & stock is also there when the shop has a second location or the plan allows one. Shop Managers and Shop Product Managers have Locations & stock once the shop has a second location, and reach stocktakes through Stock control.
The tabs of Locations & stock are Locations, Transfers, Requests, Replenishment, Coverage map, Stock history, Stocktakes and Staff & riders. Requests, Replenishment and Coverage map appear once you have more than one active location.
Something not working? See Troubleshooting.
With a single location, all your stock is at your default location and nothing changes for your customers or staff. The Locations tab says One location today, and the product page keeps its single quantity field.
