Record a COD remittance

Link delivered cash on delivery parcels to the payout your courier sent, with its reference, date and deductions.

Before you start

Courier shipping must be on for your shop (turn on Courier shipping under Shop › Features, or ask support if that page says to contact support). You need delivered cash on delivery parcels from one courier that are not yet linked to a payout.

Who can use this

Record a remittance when a courier's COD payout reaches your bank. It marks the parcels as paid out. It moves no money; see COD remittances.

Find the parcels
Go to Delivery › Shipments and select the COD awaiting remittance chip. Widen the date range if parcels are missing. Parcels awaiting remittance on the COD remittances page opens the same list with the right dates.
Select one courier's parcels
Tick the parcels the payout covers, up to 50 at a time, then select Record remittance in the bulk bar.

Fill in the payout

Check the difference
1. The line under the fields compares three figures as you type:
- Expected (parcels' COD): the COD of the selected parcels.
- Courier reports collecting (received + deductions): the three amounts added up.
- Difference: the second minus the first. A negative figure is marked (paid for less than collected).
You can record a payout with a difference. It stays visible on the payout so you can raise it with the courier.
Record
Select Record remittance. The payout page opens, and the parcels show Remitted with the reference on the Shipments list.

Which parcels can be recorded

Only delivered COD parcels without a payout. Others you ticked are listed under Left out: with the reason:

already remitted	It belongs to the payout named in brackets
a return pickup	Return parcels never collect cash

Rules

One courier per payout. If the parcels come from several couriers, the form says "A payout comes from one courier: these parcels are from …. Go back and choose one courier's parcels." and the button is disabled.
One reference per courier. A reference already used for that courier is refused: "Payout … is already recorded for this courier. Open it on the COD remittances page."
A parcel belongs to one payout. If someone else recorded a parcel while your form was open, nothing is saved and the form lists the parcels concerned.

For a payout with more than 50 parcels, import the courier's report. To correct a mistake, undo the remittance and record it again.
