Give units free or at a discount when a customer buys a set number, such as 2 + 1.
Buy X get Y discounts some units when the customer buys others: buy 2 get 1 free, or buy one get the second at half price. The cheapest qualifying units are the ones discounted.

Without Buy and get the same product, units of different products in the set are mixed, and the cheapest ones are discounted. With it, 2 + 1 must be reached within one product.
