Let accepted orders book themselves with your default courier, or book up to 50 ready orders in one go.
Where to find itDeliveryShipmentsReady to ship
Before you start
Courier shipping must be on for your shop (turn on Courier shipping under Shop › Features, or ask support if that page says to contact support), and your default courier must be one connected through its API. Managers open the list under Shipping › Shipments.
Needs
Turn it on in Shop › Features (ask support if you do not see it)
Who can use this
Shop owner, Shop Manager
Both ways book with your default courier account and use the parcel and address the Ship form would prefill. Neither works with a default courier of the "other courier" kind, because that one needs an AWB typed in. Set the default on the Couriers page.
Neither way requests a courier pickup or picks a service from live rates. Book from the order page when you need those.
Book when you accept an order
The shop owner switches this on under Shop › Settings › Delivery Settings, heading Courier deliveries: Book Courier On Accept.
After that, accepting an order books its shipment when all of these are true:
Your Delivery Area is By Shipping Zones.
The order is a delivery order, not self-pickup.
If you also deliver locally, the order is a shipping order. Local orders stay with your own drivers.
The order is not a demo order and has no shipment yet, apart from cancelled ones.
You have a default, active courier account connected through its API.
The order has a payment method, a delivery address and a destination postcode.
The booking runs after the order is accepted and never holds accepting up. It is tried once and not repeated, because a second attempt could book twice.
When it does not book, the order's activity log says why, for example:
"Automatic booking skipped: the shop has no default, active courier account. Book it from the order page."
"Automatic booking skipped: the default courier is a manual one (the AWB has to be entered). Book it from the order page."
"auto-book skipped: missing destination postcode. Book it from the order page."
"Automatic booking failed: …" followed by the courier's reason.
Book ready orders in bulk
Open Shipments
Go to Delivery › Shipments and choose the date range that holds the orders.
Select the orders
The Ready to ship box (5) lists accepted delivery orders placed in that period that have no active shipment. It shows the newest 50. Tick the orders, or Select all.
Create the shipments
Select the Create shipments button, which carries your default courier's name, and confirm. The orders are booked one after the other.
The result line lists the booked orders with their AWB. Orders that could not be booked appear under Not booked: with the reason, such as a missing postcode or the courier's refusal. Demo orders are skipped.
If you also deliver locally, the box lists your local orders too, and ticking one books a courier for it. Leave those unticked. If the button is replaced by Set a default courier with an API on the Couriers page to book these in bulk., you have no default courier, or the default is of the "other courier" kind.
