How customers save products for later and ask to be told when a sold-out product is back.
Two features keep a customer interested in a product they are not ready to buy: the wishlist and back-in-stock alerts.
Signed-in customers save products with a heart and find them again under Wishlist in their account.
The wishlist itself has no switch in the panel. It is available on every store.
To change this: show or hide the heart on product cards with the theme setting Show wishlist heart on product cards (Show wishlist heart on cards in Pronto and Halo). See Theme settings: brand and store features.
On a sold-out product, the buy button is replaced by "Notify me when it’s back". Selecting it opens a short form in the same place on the page, not a dialog. "Not now" closes it.
The form "Get an alert when it’s back" explains that one message is sent when the product returns. For a product with variants, it names the chosen variant.
Under "Send the alert by" the customer picks E-mail or WhatsApp, from the channels you offer. WhatsApp needs a signed-in customer: a guest reads "Sign in with your phone number to get WhatsApp alerts."
The customer ticks "Send me one alert when this is back in stock. I can stop it at any time." and selects "Notify me".
When you require e-mail confirmation, the customer reads "Almost done — check your e-mail and confirm the alert." Otherwise: "Done — we’ll let you know when it’s back."
Signed-in customers manage their requests under Stock alerts in the account. The page lists alerts that are waiting, each with "Stop alert", and earlier ones.
In a shop with several locations the alert is for the customer's own store or delivery area. If another store has the product, the customer reads "It’s in stock at another of our stores. Change your location to buy it there."
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| "Good news — it’s back in stock. Refresh the page to buy it." | Stock returned while the form was open |
| "You’re already waiting for the most products we can track. Cancel an alert to add another." | The customer reached the limit of open alerts |
| "This shop doesn’t send alerts that way. Choose another option." | The chosen channel is not available |
To change this: Marketing Tools › Back in stock. The feature needs stock tracking and is off until you switch it on. See Back-in-stock alerts.
