Every cash on delivery order a delivery guy delivers adds to the cash they are holding for you. You record each hand-over in the panel, and the delivery app shows them the same figures.
How the cash builds up
- The agent marks a cash on delivery order delivered. See Orders in the delivery app.
- The amount the customer still owed on that order is added to the agent's cash on hand.
- The agent appears on Delivery › Collections with that amount to collect.
Only orders whose payment method is cash on delivery at the moment of delivery count. Card on delivery, online payments and wallet payments add nothing. If the agent switched an order from card to cash at the door, it counts as cash. See Payment at the door.
An order you mark delivered from the panel without a delivery agent is not added to anyone's cash.
What the app is given
| Item | What it is |
|---|
| Cash on hand | The total cash the agent currently holds for your shop |
| Collection log | One line per hand-over you recorded, with the amount and the date |
| A notification | Sent when you record a hand-over. Its default text is "Your Delivery Collection is Collected" |
The log shows your collections only. It does not list the orders the cash came from.
Both figures are read for the shop the agent's account belongs to. A freelance agent hired from the platform's pool is not tied to one shop in the same way, so the app may not show them the cash they hold for you. The Collections page in your panel is the record to rely on.
Recording a hand-over
You do this in the panel, not in the app. On Delivery › Collections, select Collect cash on the agent's row and enter the full amount or a part. The agent's cash on hand goes down and a line is added to their log. Collecting records cash you received; it does not move money.
The steps, the totals and the history are in Collections. For figures by date and agent, see the Delivery Collections Report.
The agent's wallet is separate
Each agent also has a wallet balance, shown in the app after sign-in. It is not the cash the agent holds. You add to it or subtract from it yourself with a message. See Delivery agent wallet.
