How customers tell the store where they are, what changes once they do, and what they see when you do not deliver there.
A store can ask customers where they are before they shop. The answer decides what is available to them, and tells them early when you do not deliver there.
When the location prompt is on, a bar reads "Set your location". After a choice it reads "Delivering to …" or "Pickup at …", with "Change".
The popup is titled "Where should we deliver?". It offers the methods you allowed, in your order:
| Method | Customer does |
|---|---|
| Choose an area | Picks one of your delivery zones from "Your area" |
| Postcode | Types a postcode. Shipping-zone shops in countries with postcodes only |
| Pin on a map | Drops a pin. Needs a map provider |
| Use my location | Shares the device's location |
Signed-in customers also see "Your addresses" when you offer saved addresses. A "Pickup" tab appears when you offer pickup.
| Answer | Customer reads |
|---|---|
| You deliver there | "Good news — we deliver to …." |
| You do not | "We don’t deliver there yet." With pickup on, the customer is told they can still pick up from a store |
When the popup opens depends on Ask For Location: only when the customer opens it, once on the first visit, or on every visit until set. With the last choice, adding to the cart opens the popup.
To change this: Ask shoppers for their location.
When your shop routes orders between locations, the chosen place decides which location serves the customer. The store then shows:
If you deliver to the place but no location can serve it at the moment, the customer reads "We deliver there, but no store can serve it right now. Please try again later."
A single-location shop is not affected.
To change this: Order routing between locations and Areas served by a location.
The store locator is a section you add to a page in the editor. It lists your stores, with a map when a map provider is set.
Each store shows its address, "Opening hours", and buttons for "Get directions", "Call" and "WhatsApp". Stores where customers can collect are marked "Pickup available".
The stores are your pickup locations. With none, the section shows your shop address. With neither, customers do not see the section at all.
To change this: Show your stores on your website.
When you do not deliver to a place, the popup can offer "Tell me when you deliver here".
Under "We don’t deliver here yet", the customer types an e-mail address and ticks the consent box, which names your shop.
The customer reads "Check your inbox to confirm — we’ve sent you a link." Once confirmed: "Done — we’ll let you know."
When you start delivering there, you send one e-mail to the list from the report.
The form is shown only while the waitlist switch is on, reports are part of your package and your shop can send e-mail.
To change this: Delivery waitlist and Where customers want delivery.
