Create a customer account by hand when customers cannot register themselves.
Customers normally create their own account. You add one by hand when your shop is closed to new sign-ups, for example a wholesale shop that chooses its buyers.
Go to Customers › Customers and select Add. The page is titled Add New Customer.

Select Create. You return to the list with "Customer created successfully."
The password is typed in plain view, so set it where nobody can read your screen. Give it to the customer yourself; the panel does not send it.
A password chosen by a shop is marked as such. The password you set is removed once the customer proves their phone number with a sign-in code. Setting it also ends every session of that account.
