Who can use this
Shop owner
The Meta channel keeps one catalogue in your Meta business filled with your products. Your Facebook and Instagram shops and your catalogue ads use that catalogue. Setting up the shop, product tags and ads is done on Meta's side, in Commerce Manager.
The channel is available when your platform has set up Meta catalogs. If it has not, the page says "Meta catalogs are not set up on this platform yet, so they cannot be connected. Contact support." and Continue with Facebook is greyed out.
Open the page
Open the Sales channels menu and select Meta (Facebook & Instagram).
The Meta setup checklist lists the steps and marks what is done.
Continue with Facebook
Select Continue with Facebook. On Facebook's screens, continue with the account that manages your business and allow access to the business and its catalogues. Allow every permission asked for.
Choose your Meta business
With one business it is chosen for you. With several, pick one under Choose your Meta business and select Use this business.
Choose the catalogue
Under Choose the catalog, either:
pick an existing catalogue and select Use this catalog, or
select Create a catalog named … to let the panel create one for this store.
If your store has more than one language, choose the Product language first.
If creating fails, the page tells you to create the catalogue in Commerce Manager, type E-commerce, and then select Refresh.
Let the first sync run
You see "Catalog … chosen. Your products are on their way to it." The first sync starts by itself once your online store is live.

Test connection "checks the access and the catalog with Meta" and changes nothing.
The checklist
The Meta setup rows follow the steps above, then Make your online store live, Send your products to Meta and Syncing runs without errors. One row is only recommended: Give every product a brand, a barcode or an MPN. A product with none is sent with your shop name as the brand.
Sync status and problems
The lower part of the page works like the Google one: a Sync with Meta card with Sync now, four tiles (In the catalog, Waiting for Meta's review, Not approved by Meta, Not sent), Fix these first and Products with problems. Read it as described in Sync status and product problems on Google; the product rules are in What is sent to a channel.
After Sync now the panel says: "Changes reach your catalog within minutes; Meta's review can take up to a day."
