Enter each location's quantity and low-stock alert on a product, and see how totals are worked out.
With more than one location, a product no longer has one quantity. It has a quantity at each location, and the product's stock is the total.
Open the product from Catalogue › Products. In the Inventory card, make sure Track stock quantity is on.
In the Stock per location table, type the Quantity for each location. The default location carries a Default badge.
Low stock alert at is set per location too.
Select Save changes.
Stock is kept per variant. On the Variants tab, In stock shows a variant's total with a Set per location link. The link opens that variant's own page with the same table.
A team member assigned to some locations edits only their own. Other rows are greyed out with the hint "Not one of your locations".

Each location has its own column, named with the location's code: stock_quantity@DXB-1. An empty cell leaves that location as it is. With these columns in the file, the plain stock_quantity column is ignored; without them, stock_quantity sets your default location. A column with an unknown location code rejects the file.
Online orders take their stock from the location that serves the customer's address and has everything in stock. To move stock between locations, use Transfer stock rather than editing two quantities, so the move is recorded as a transfer.
