Restore a deactivated customer, and learn where blocking and deleting a customer are done.
The customers list has no delete button, no block button and no button to deactivate a customer. This page explains the one action it does have, Restore, and where the others are done.
A customer becomes deactivated when they delete their own profile in your mobile app. Nothing in the shop panel deactivates a customer.
The customer stays in your list. Their card is faded and carries the Deactivated badge. Their orders and wallet are kept.
While deactivated, the customer cannot sign in to your shop or check out as a guest with that phone number. On the website they are told "This shop has removed your account. Please contact the shop if you think that is a mistake." The app answers "Profile Deleted".
Restore the customer when they ask to come back.
On Customers › Customers, search for the customer by name, e-mail or phone.
Select Restore on the card. The panel asks "Restore name?". Confirm.
You see "Customer has been restored successfully" and the badge is gone. The customer can sign in and order again.
Blocking is done from COD & risk, not from the list, by the shop owner or a Shop Manager. It needs a plan with the advanced COD tools and Use these controls ticked. A block can be either:
You can block from the COD risk panel on the customer's edit page with Block this customer, or by phone number or e-mail on the blocklist. See COD blocklist.
You cannot delete a customer from the list. A customer's account and data are removed through a privacy request, which the customer starts from your website or you start for them. See Start a privacy request for a customer.
A deleted customer leaves the list. Orders, invoices and amounts stay, without the customer's name, contact details or address.
To stop new accounts altogether, see Customer registration.
