Where to find itReportsWastage
Before you start
Stock tracking must be on under Shop › Features, or your shop has stocktakes from earlier. Reports must be part of your package.

Who can use this
Shop owner, Shop Manager, Shop Product Manager
Wastage adds up the stock written off in a period and, for people who may see costs, what it was worth.
Who sees it
The owner, Shop Managers and Shop Product Managers can open it. Other roles cannot.
The link is in the Reports menu for those of them who have that menu. See Who can see reports. A Shop Product Manager opens Stock control in the top bar and uses its Wastage tab.
The Value figures appear only for people who may see cost prices. See Stock control settings. Everyone else sees quantities only.
What counts as wastage
Stock lowered by hand with a loss reason.
A stocktake's shortfall. A surplus does not count. See Stocktakes.
Units lost in a transfer between locations. See Transfer stock.
Returned items inspected as damaged or as the wrong item, and not put back on stock. They count on the inspection date.
The reasons are Damaged, Expired, Theft or loss, Sample or internal use, Other reason, Stocktake shortfall, Lost in transit, Returned damaged and Returned — wrong item.
Read the report
Choose the date range: Today, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, This month, Last month, or your own dates of up to one year. The report opens on 30 days. Shops with more than one location also get a location filter.
The tiles total the range.
Four tables follow: By reason, By product, By category and, with more than one location, By location.
Figure
Meaning
Units lost / Quantity
Units written off
Value lost / Value
Units × the product's current cost price. Returned goods use the cost price they were sold at, or the current one if none was recorded
Units without cost
Units of products that have no cost price. They are not in the value
Each table shows up to 100 rows (50 for categories), largest value first. Without cost access the rows are ordered by quantity.
Download CSV
Download CSV (4) gives one line per write-off, oldest first: Date, Reason, Location, Product ID, Product, Barcode and Quantity. People who may see costs also get Cost price and Value.
