Let customers send an order as a gift, create one yourself, and read the gift details on the order.
A gift order is a delivery order sent to someone else. The customer who orders pays and gets the order messages. The recipient's name and phone are stored with the order, and prices can be kept off the paperwork.
Under Shop › Settings › Order Settings › Gift orders, switch on Enable Gift Orders. Then choose whether to allow a gift message, offer gift wrap and at what price, hide prices on the packing slip, and tell the recipient when the gift is out for delivery. Each field is explained in Order Settings.
On Orders, select New and choose the customer and address. The address is the recipient's address. See Create an order.
In step 3, tick Send as a gift. It sits above Create Order & Add Products.
Enter Recipient name and Recipient phone.
Depending on your settings you can also add a Gift message, From (printed on the card), tick Gift wrap, tick Hide prices from the recipient, and tick Tell the recipient when it is out for delivery.
Select Create Order & Add Products and continue as for any panel order.
If you tick Gift wrap, its price is entered as the order's shop charge. You can edit it on the change page like any charge.
A gift order shows a Gift order card on its order page:

The gift message is printed as a card note on the packing slip and the kitchen ticket.
Gift orders carry a Gift badge on the orders list. To list only them, select the All orders filter button and choose Gift orders. See Search and filter orders.
