How your store appears in more than one language, including Arabic, and how prices, phone numbers and times are formatted.
Your store can be offered in several languages. It always sells in one currency: your shop's.
Each language your website offers has its own addresses.
| Language | Address |
|---|---|
| The default language | No prefix, for example /products/olive-oil |
| Any other language | A prefix, for example /ar/products/olive-oil |
Customers change language with the switcher in the header or footer. It is shown only when the website offers more than one language.
What is translated:
Arabic is laid out from right to left. Menus, the cart, checkout and arrows are mirrored.
The language a customer used is stored with their sign-in and their orders, so messages about the order can follow it.
Search engines are told about each language version of a page. See What search engines get automatically.
To change this: which languages the website offers, and the default, are under Shop › Online Store › Preferences › Languages. See Preferences: website languages.
Prices are shown in your shop's currency, with its symbol. There is no currency switcher for customers.
| What | Follows |
|---|---|
| Currency and symbol | Your shop's currency |
| Symbol before or after the amount | Your shop's currency setting |
| Number of decimals | Store Price Decimal Point in General Settings. Two when nothing is set |
To change this: the decimals are in General Settings: stock and catalogue. You cannot change the currency or the position of its symbol yourself; ask support. See Currency and decimals.
The mobile number field at checkout and sign-in expects a number of your shop's country, with that country's number of digits, typed without the country code. The hint under the field says how many digits.
When you accept numbers from other countries, the field gains a country picker. See Contact details and guest checkout.
Opening hours, delivery slots and order hours are worked out in your shop's time zone, whatever the customer's own time zone is.
