Edit the links in your header and footer, nest them, and create extra menus.
A menu is a list of links. The header, the footer and the legal line each show one. You edit menus in the editor's Menus tab: "Header, footer and legal links use these menus."
Every store has three menus that cannot be deleted: main, footer and legal. You can create more.
Open the Menus tab and pick a menu under Menu.
Select Add menu item. A New item opens.
"Changes save automatically". The preview shows the new link after the save.
An item without a title shows Add a title and is listed as Untitled.
| To | Buttons | Keyboard |
|---|---|---|
| Move an item | Move up, Move down | Alt+↑, Alt+↓ |
| Put it under the item above | Nest under previous | Alt+→ |
| Bring it back out | Move out one level | Alt+← |
| Add a child directly | Add sub-item | |
| Edit | Select the item | Enter |
| Remove | "Remove" and the title | Delete or Backspace |
Menus go three levels deep: an item, its sub-items and their sub-items. A menu holds up to 200 items.
How nested items look, as a dropdown or a wider panel, is decided by the theme's header.
To show it, choose it in a section's menu field: the header, a footer menu block, or another section that takes a menu.
Select the delete button beside the menu picker. Its tooltip reads "Delete menu" and the handle. The main, footer and legal menus have none. A notice confirms: "Deleted menu “…”."
If sections still use the menu, the editor asks first: "Menu "…" is used by N sections: …. Choose what they use instead." Pick a menu under Use instead, or No menu, then select Reassign and delete.
