A zone, rate or weight unit will not save

The messages the zone form, the rate form and the weight unit setting show, and how to correct each one.

Before you start

Courier shipping must be on for your shop (turn on Courier shipping under Shop › Features, or ask support if that page says to contact support).

Who can use this

Shop owner

Messages are quoted as the panel shows them. Three dots stand for a name, a number or the courier's own wording.

"Only the shop owner can change shipping settings."

Shop Managers can view zones and use Test a shipment. Adding or changing zones and rates, and everything under Couriers, needs the shop owner's login.

A zone will not save

"Add at least one country this zone covers."	Fill at least one row under Where it ships
"Choose a country for every row."	A row has a state or postcodes but no country
"… is not a postcode pattern. Use 560001 (exact), 560* (starts with) or 560000-560099 (range), separated by commas."	Correct the pattern
"Separate postcodes with commas: … looks like several."	Put commas between the postcodes
"The range … starts after it ends."	Swap the two ends
"Leave postcodes blank to cover the whole country or state ("*" alone is not needed)."	Clear the postcodes box
"A zone can have at most 1000 postcode patterns. Use prefixes like 560* or ranges."	Replace long lists with prefixes or ranges

After saving, "Zone "…" also covers …" is a warning, not an error: for the same area the zone higher in the list wins. Drag the zones to change it.

A rate will not save

"Enter the shipping price." / "Enter the price per item."	Fill the price for the chosen type
"Enter a number like 40 or 12.5 (up to 3 decimals)."	Digits and a decimal point only
"Fill both "up to" and the price in every row (or clear the row)."	Complete or clear the slab row
""Up to" must be more than 0."	Give the slab a limit above 0
"Two rows have the same "up to" (…). Each row needs its own limit."	Change one limit
"Add at least one weight slab (or an "each extra" price)." / "Add at least one order value slab."	Add a slab
"Fill both the step and its price for "each extra", or leave both blank."	Complete Above the last slab or clear it
"The maximum weight must be at least the minimum." / "The maximum order value must be at least the minimum."	Correct the limits
"The slowest delivery must be at least the fastest."	Correct the days
"Choose a courier from the list."	The courier type is no longer available; pick another

Changing the weight unit is refused

"You changed the weight unit. Choose whether to convert your existing weights or keep the numbers": pick one option under Existing weights.
"Converting to … would make the heaviest product weight too large to store. Keep the numbers or choose another unit."
