The till has two kinds of price reduction. A manual discount is typed by the person at the till. Offers and coupons come from your marketing set-up and are worked out the same way as in your online checkout.

Up to Largest discount a cashier may give (%) in the till rules, on one line and on the whole cart
That limit starts at 0. At 0, the discount fields on a cashier's till are greyed out.
Discount one line
In the cart, type in the line's Discount field:
a number, for example 5, takes that amount off the line;
a percentage, for example 10%, takes that share off the line.
Discount the whole cart
Type in Cart discount (10 or 10%). A number is an amount, 10% is a percentage. It is applied after any line discounts and spread over the lines.
Give the reason
As soon as there is a manual discount, the field Reason for the discount appears. It is required. The discount and its reason are written to the activity log, and the Manual discount row of the totals shows the amount.
Apply a coupon
Type the code in Coupon code. The result shows under the field and in the Offers and coupons row.
The box is shown only when coupons are switched on for your shop. See Coupons.
Automatic offers need no code. They also land in Offers and coupons.
Offers and coupons are worked out on the price after your manual discount.
A coupon with a limit per customer counts for the attached customer. Without one, it counts for the walk-in account.
A sale cannot be completed while the code in the box is refused. Clear the box or correct the code.
