Create one register per till, attach it to a location, rename it, move it or switch it off.

Before you start
The number of registers you can add is the number of POS register add-ons in your plan.
Needs
Included with the plan
Who can use this
Shop owner, Shop Manager
A register is one till at one of your locations. Its sales take stock from that location, and each register has its own cash drawer and shifts.
Only the shop owner can add or change registers. A Shop Manager sees the registers of their locations, read-only. Other roles do not have this tab.
Add a register
Open the tab
Select Point of sale in the top menu, then Registers & settings.
Name it and choose its location
New register: a name your staff will recognise, for example "Front counter". At most 100 characters.
Location: one of your active locations. See Locations.
Save
Select Add register. The page answers "Register added."
Change a register
Each register is a row with Name, Location, Status and Shift. Edit the row and select Save. The page answers "Register saved."
Field
What it does
Name
Renames the register
Location
Moves the register. Later sales take stock from the new location
Status
Active or Switched off. A switched-off register is not offered on the Till tab
Shift
Open or Closed. You cannot edit this here
You can rename a register at any time. To move it or switch it off, its shift must be closed. Otherwise the page answers "Close the open shift of this register first."
Registers are not deleted, and a switched-off register still counts towards your plan. To replace a till, rename or move an existing register instead of adding a new one.
The plan limit and locked registers
Your plan includes as many registers as you hold POS register add-ons.
Adding one too many. The page answers "Your plan includes … POS registers. Add a POS register (Plan & billing) to add another." Buy another add-on first. See Add-ons.
Holding more registers than the plan includes, for example after you remove an add-on. The registers you created first stay usable, up to the number in your plan. The others are locked. Switched-off registers are counted too, so switching off an older register does not unlock a newer one.
A locked register cannot open a shift, sell, look up products or take returns. The till answers "This register is locked: your plan includes … POS registers. Close its open shift if it has one, then use another register or add a POS register (Plan & billing)."
A shift that is already open on a locked register can still take cash in and out, show its X-report and be closed, so the cash in the drawer is never stranded.
