Choose who sees cost prices, whether lowering stock needs a reason, and whether counts need your approval.
The Stock control settings card is at the bottom of Catalogue › Stocktakes. Only the shop owner sees it.

The first setting is shown only while Cost and margin tracking is on under Shop › Features (Track cost and margin in the general settings). That switch adds the cost price to products, the gross margin report and stock value. Switching it off hides cost prices and keeps your choice here; it does not delete them.
A file that contains cost prices can be downloaded only by people this setting allows: see Import and export history.
When a reason is required, the person chooses one of these:

The note field takes up to 150 characters. Reason and note are stored in the stock history.
Where the reason is asked:
