Before you start

Available when your platform has set up Google Merchant Center. Sales channels must be on for your shop, and you need a Merchant Center account. Turn on Sales channels in Shop › Features. If you do not see it there, ask support.

Connecting lists your products in Google Merchant Center, for free listings on Google and for Shopping ads. Nothing is pasted: you sign in with Google and allow access.

Before you start

The channel is available when your platform has set up Google Merchant Center. If it has not, the page says "Google Merchant Center is not set up on this platform yet, so it cannot be connected. Contact support." and the connect button is greyed out.
You need a Merchant Center account. The page links to merchants.google.com, where Google lets you create one for free.
Sign in with a Google user that is an admin of that Merchant Center account. A user with less access can connect but cannot add the product source or claim the website.

Open the page
Open the Sales channels menu and select Google Merchant Center.

Connect
1. Select Connect Google Merchant Center. Google opens.
On Google's screens, choose the Google account that manages your Merchant Center and allow every permission asked for, including Merchant Center (Google Shopping). Google then sends you back to the panel.
Choose the Merchant Center account
If your Google user has one Merchant Center account, it is chosen for you. With several, the card Choose your Merchant Center account lists them by name and ID. Pick one.
If your online store has more than one language, also choose the Product language: the language of the titles and descriptions sent to Google. It is fixed once the product source is set up.
Select Use this account.

Check the Connected card

The panel adds a product source for this store to your Merchant Center account. The Connected card then shows:

Finish the checklist
Claim your website and set the countries: see Website, countries and local inventory. The first sync starts by itself once the required checklist rows are done.

If something goes wrong while connecting

Message	What to do
"Google access was not granted, so nothing was connected…"	Select the connect button again and allow access
"Google did not give access to Merchant Center…"	Connect again and allow every permission on Google's screen
"Google did not give lasting access. Remove this app at myaccount.google.com/permissions, then click Connect again."	Remove the app's access in your Google account, then connect again
"This Google account has no Merchant Center account yet…"	Create one with the same Google account, then select Refresh
"This Google account cannot use that Merchant Center account…"	Choose another, or ask its admin to add you as a user
"Your Google user cannot add a data source to this Merchant Center account…"	Ask the admin for admin access, then select Retry setup

Reconnecting

If Google stops accepting the connection, the page shows Reconnect Google: "access was removed, the password changed or the permission expired". Products are not sent until you select Reconnect and sign in again. Your account choice is kept.

The panel never sees your Google password. You can remove the access here, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
